About the files

PDF (Portable Document Format) files are an industry standard way of distributing high quality documentation which must display and print with 100% accuracy on many different computers running a variety of operating systems.

PDF files can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat, (available for free download) and contain embedded font, layout and image data to ensure correct display on any computer. McDonnell-Phillips make extensive use of PDF files for distributing electronic versions of our reports, in addition to the printed copies. A 200 page PDF report, for example, can fit on one disk and include hyperlinks from the index to different chapters!
