Government

Several trends continue to reshape Australian government:

    Continued pressure to achieve more with fewer resources;

    Deregulation and restructuring issues;

    Opening of service delivery markets to competition;

    Increasing emphasis on policy and standard formulation; and

    Decreasing emphasis on service delivery.

No matter how you look at these trends, Australia is down-sizing its government. This creates enormous pressure for change and realignment.

Leading public service organisations need to be creative innovators, build self-determining futures and deliver the best value to the community. Government agencies need to find out and deliver what the community wants and ways to deliver more with less.

We have provided support to the largest government departments in the following areas - the transition from:

    Commercialised to corporatised to privatised organisations (including development of marketing, financial and HR functions and strategic planning);

    Outsourcing services;

    Service provider to skilled buyer of services; and

    Product-oriented to customer- focused.

Our approach delivers integrated links between strategy, people, marketing and productivity improvement. We focus on our government work on increasing revenues, decreasing administrative costs and improved service responsiveness and quality.

Private sector

Challenges for the Australian private sector include:

    An economy which is fundamentally supported by mining and agriculture (and related industries) whilst the highest growth has been experienced in soft infrastructure and service industries (such as communications, information technology, education and tourism);

    Service delivery in a country with widespread, small markets which are expensive to service; and

    The predominant business form is small business- which has difficulty affording adequate support in marketing, finance, legal services etc, yet most need these services.

Our private sector has a good track record in service delivery, a mediocre performance in innovation and a poor record in investing in its own future.

We work with all types of private sector firms (small, medium and large) to develop creative marketing strategies, improve productivity and find and develop the best people.
